Questions We Hear
Smart buyers ask hard questions. Here are honest answers.
Is this TCPA-safe? I've heard SMS marketing is legally risky.
Legitimate concern, and we're not going to wave it away. TCPA is real. The difference is **consent architecture**. Podium, Birdeye, and every other legitimate platform operates legally by collecting proper express consent at the point of sale or service appointment. We include a built-in consent capture step in our workflow. A solo operator sending 200–300 requests/month to existing customers who already said yes is not a class-action target. We provide the documentation framework. Your lawyer can review it. That's the right approach.
Why not just use the free Google Business Profile tools?
You absolutely can. Google's free tools let you send review requests manually to each customer. That works if you have 10 customers a month and enjoy data entry. Once you cross into "I need to actually systematize this," free tools break down. No automation, no personalization, no tracking, no multi-location view. We're not competing with free—we're the upgrade when free stops working.
What if AI generates bad or generic-sounding messages?
This is a fair critique of early LLM outputs, and it's why we don't just dump raw AI output into a text. Our system uses a **structured prompt framework** that pulls in the customer's name, service type, and your business voice. You approve templates before they go live. You can edit copy at any time. The AI handles the grunt work; you keep the brand control. We've seen operators go from "this sounds like a robot" to indistinguishable from personal texts in about 20 minutes of tuning.
How does this handle customers who don't want texts?
Every plan includes email as a delivery channel alongside SMS. You control which customers get which channel. You can also set preferences per customer or per location. The consent capture step we mentioned earlier is where this gets handled cleanly—ask once, store the preference, respect it going forward. That's both legally sound and good customer service.
What's the actual setup time? I'm not technical.
If you can fill out a form and connect an email account, you can set this up in under 10 minutes. We provide a step-by-step onboarding wizard that walks you through connecting your review platforms, importing your customer list, selecting a template, and sending your first request. No coding. No devops. No waiting for a CSM to schedule a call. That said, if you want help, we have live support—it's not a chatbot.
What happens if I cancel? Do I lose my data?
You can export all your customer data, review request history, and response data at any time during your subscription and after cancellation. We don't hold your data hostage. CSV export is available on all plans. Your review links and templates remain functional even after cancellation—we're not going to break your customer's experience because you stopped paying. We want you to come back because you want to, not because you're stuck.
